Do you know about Coca-cola short stories contest for young talents? It is the older young literature contest in our country, an incredible literary experience. During 50 years the contest has always been faithful to its goal: to get students to get inspired and express themselves by writing. More than 12.000 youngsters from all around Spain expressed all their imagination on the writing test from the 55th edition of Coca-Cola's Short Stories Contest for Young Talents, that took place at more than 100 different places in Spain.
The goal is to write a short but complete story that makes sense. It has to be an intense text, concentrated, striking and deep. It is necessary to transform the character. Through the conflict, the character has to get an internal transformation, knowing he or she has learned something and changed the way he or she understands the world.
If you can imagine it, you can tell it! The contest is a practical way of increasing writing and reading at school. As famous writer Laura Gallego says, "Someone doesn't feel weird for reading and writing anymore". It is a unique contest and it also gives great prizes with an adventure and literary spirit, something unforgettable for many kids.
This contest is amied to kids studying their second ESO year and they can participate through their schools. The teacher is in charged of practising how to write a short story in class and choose the students that will represent the school at the contest. The writing test takes place simultaneously all around Spain. Every winner and their teachers will get amazing prizes!
First three classifieds per province will get a gift, depending on the classification order. All the participants will get a little gift from Coca-Cola, and the teachers from the first three classifieds per province will also gent a very special gift. The 17 autonomic winners will enjoy a Campus for young talents, a cultural trip to Madrid where they will get to know many important writers and life amazing experiences.
For all the young people who loves writing, this contest is a stimulus and a way to show everybody what they are capable of. Best thing is that the contest's final wil take place at our karting next May 28th in the morning.
The ceremony will reward the best short stories from the center area: Madrid, Toledo, Cuenca Albacete, Guadalajara, Ciudad Real, Caceres, Segovia, Avila, Salamanca y Valladolid. For kids studying their second year of ESO, who are between 13 and 14 years old.
The awards ceremony will take place from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at our Acropolis room at Carlos Sainz Center (Sepulveda St. 3, Madrid). After that there will be a briefing session for the kids to take part on a karting race.
